Light Move Festival, Sept 26-28, 2025, Łódź
Six open doors represent gates to the past. Inside, people living at the beginning of the 20th century go about their everyday lives at a time of monumental change and industrialization - visualized thanks to archival film footage from the National Film Archive - Audiovisual Institute. Accompanied by a soundscape, these films will be edited together to create a flowing and remixed work, which is then projected onto the doors. These figures from the past will mingle with the present-day inhabitants of Łódź who are free to walk around the installation. In this way the past and the present are connected, prompting us to reflect on the contemporary meaning of “community,” its current state, and it's possible potential.
